This tour takes you on a journey of gardening exploration and discovery, as we travel east to west across Ireland. You will be amazed at the diversity of characteristics, features and settings we uncover to say nothing of the gardens owners!
The four-star Raheen Woods Hotel, in the medieval town of Athenry, has 50 en-suite bedrooms each with satellite TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities and free WiFi. There is an indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym.
We drive from Belfast through Kells to Tullynally Castle Gardens where we explore its 12 acres of gardens and two ornamental lakes. We arrive in Athenry in time for dinner.

This morning it’s Ardcarraig Garden which specialises in primulas, poppies and hostas. Then we drive further into Connemara toBrigit’s Garden where the four main gardens represent Celtic fire festivals.B, D
The first stop today is Woodville Walled Garden, where we enjoy tea/coffee and homemade cake. Next, at Lough Derg, we visit Portumna Castle and Gardens for a guided tour of the house with time to explore the gardens.B, D
We leave Athenry and visit the Kildare Outdoor Village for a few hours before returning to Belfast.B
