The Jurys Inn Newcastle is situated in the city centre. All 274 en-suite rooms come with Freeview TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and free WiFi

Day 1

Leaving Belfast, we board the mid-morning Stena Line sailing, arriving in Newcastle in late afternoon.

Day 2

The day begins with a tour of Newcastle. Then we head for the Cheviot Hills, visiting the villages of Ford and Etal, before arriving at Holy Island (Lindisfarne). Island access is restricted by tidal conditions and will be at the discretion of the guide and driver. If access is not possible, we will visit nearby Berwickupon- Tweed instead.

Day 3

Today we get a flavour of working life in the north-east during Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times at Beamish Open Air Museum. We’re in the cathedral city of Durham for the afternoon.

Day 4

We leave Newcastle and head to our second hotel in Louth, stopping en route at the Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre. Continuing south through Yorkshire we cross the Humber Bridge into Lincolnshire and arrive at our hotel.

Day 5

We spend a full day in the city of Lincoln, taking a guided tour of the Cathedral and spending some free time exploring its historic streets.

Day 6

After a short visit to the weekly market in Louth, we drive south to Stamford, the most complete stone-built town in England, unchanged for many centuries.

Day 7

We return to Belfast on the evening Stena Line ferry from Cairnryan.
