The Nethybridge Hotel is a traditional hotel set amidst the scenic splendour of the Cairngorm Mountains and close to the Highland capital, Inverness, as well as Cairngorm. We leave Belfast on the early morning Stena Line sailing to Cairnryan. We journey north skirting through the Cairngorms before arriving at our hotel in plenty of time for dinner.

After a relaxing breakfast we make the short journey to Aviemore where we spend some time before we board the wonderful Strathspey Steam Railway. We steam along on a round trip with Afternoon Tea through Boat of Garten and Broomhill. We spend the morning in Inverness, where you are free to explore. After lunch we embark on a 30 minute cruise on the loch finishing at the magnificently situated Urquhart Castle, which dominates a rocky promontory jutting into Loch Ness. The castle’s history is told in the exhibition and audio-visual display in the new visitor centre, where you will find an outstanding array of medieval artefacts.B, D
Our excursion today takes us along the shores of Loch Ness to the charming fishing village of Mallaig, where we spend lunchtime. Here we board the Jacobite Steam Train, one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world, that takes in the stunning Highland scenery, to Fort William. After a short stop at Glenfinnan we’ll travel over the 21 arch Glenfinnan viaduct with stunning views down Loch Shiel. Our coach meets us in Fort William for the return journey to NethybridgeB, D
Time to return home but we will stop en-route for some last minute shopping before taking the Stena Line evening sailing back to Belfast.B
