Stourport-on-Severn was built as a consequence of the coming of canals which linked the River Severn with the Trent and Mersey and as a result became one of the busiest inland ports in England.

From this unique history, and as a Georgian canal town today, it has developed into a popular tourist town with many attractions and is the ideal place from which to explore.

 

The Hallmark Hotel is a contemporary country house property, set in 23 acres and offers en-suite bedrooms equipped with TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea/ coffee making facilities. Day 2

Today we take a short trip to the Georgian riverside town of Bewdley for a scenic journey on the Severn Valley Railway (June departure has a "Step Back to the 1940's" theme) which meanders through the Shropshire countryside to the market town of Bridgnorth. We follow this with a guided tour of RAF Museum Cosford home to over 70 aircraft of international importance and adjacent to an active airfield this enthralling museum is not just for aviation enthusiasts.

Tonight in the hotel there is a history talk on Stourport and a themed dinner.

Day 3

It is Shrewsbury this morning where we enjoy a relaxing River Severn cruise, with tea/coffee. We have some free time for you to enjoy the numerous black and white buildings and cobbled streets before we set off to the thriving market town of Ludlow, Shropshire’s Food and Drink Capital.

We return to Belfast via Holyhead and Dublin with Stena Line.
