The Black Forest & German Lakes

The Black Forest & German Lakes

The Black Forest is arguably Germany’s most popular holiday destination.

The Black Forest is arguably Germany’s most popular holiday destination. Schonach, our base, just a mile from Triberg, lies at the very heart of the region, allowing us the opportunity to experience the real ‘Schwarzwald’ and also the chance to visit Mainau Island on Lake Constance and Lake Titisee, the largest natural lake in the Black Forest.

The Landhotel Rebstock in Schonach is a charming, traditional Black Forest, family-run hotel in the centre of the village. There are only 25 bedrooms so we get the undivided attention of the family, with a warm welcome and excellent German home cooking. Being a typical Black Forest building there are about 15 steps to the front door but, perhaps surprisingly and a bonus, there is an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a sun terrace.
