The Rhine and Moselle Valleys offer much to the traveller with spectacular scenery and a warm welcome. This attracts visitors from all over the world, charmed by its vine-clad slopes, wonderful wines, picturesque towns and ancient castles. Boppard, situated in the heart of the Rhine Gorge, has a premier location right on the banks of the river. It is an ideal base to explore, with medieval and Roman remains, half-timbered houses, churches and narrow alleyways.
Our hotel, the family-run Ebertor Hotel, occupies a prime site in the town with an outdoor terrace overlooking the mighty Rhine River. There are 101 ensuite bedrooms, each hairdryer, TV and WiFi.
Day 1 - Monday
Europa Buscentre to Hull via P&O Ferry from Larne to Cairnryan.

Day 2 - Tuesday
On disembarking, we drive through south-west Holland into Germany, where we follow the course of the River Rhine upstream, to the small town of Boppard. We arrive in mid-afternoon, in good time to settle in before dinner.

Day 3 - Wednesday
It is a free day today to explore the town’s treasures which can be found in many different ways by passing romantic squares and small lanes in the old town and by strolling along the Rhine Allee, filled with trees and flowers, or even take a trip on one of the many excursions available.B, D
Day 4 - Thursday
We have the Rhine River cruise this morning that takes us from Boppard to Rüdesheim (approx. 2.5 hrs). Keep a watch over the Loreley Valley and bear witness to an eventful history. The banks of the river are lined with enchanting little towns and villages and idyllic medieval half-timbered houses. At St Goar you come to the legendary Loreley Rock, which every year attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
The afternoon is free to spend in Rüdesheim explore the famous Drosselgasse, a lively narrow cobbled lane lined with old inns and wine cellars.
Day 5 - Friday
This morning we take the Hunsrück High Road, one of Germany’s hidden gems, and enjoy fabulous views (weather permitting) before arriving in Germany’s oldest city, Trier. We spend a few hours in this UNESCO Heritage city whose many attractions include the world famous Porta Nigra and the Roman Amphitheatre.B, D
Day 6 - Saturday
We take the high road over the Hunsrück hills to the ancient Moselle town of Cochem, where we enjoy a one hour round trip cruise on the Moselle River. You will have time to explore the many medieval squares and lovingly restored houses of Cochem.B, D
Day 7 - Sunday
We leave Boppard today and return to Europoort for the evening sailing back to Hull.
