Turkey & Tinsel in Co Wexford 2017

County Wexford’s second-largest town, Enniscorthy (Inis Coirthaidh), is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and natural beauty.

County Wexford’s second-largest town, Enniscorthy (Inis Coirthaidh), is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and natural beauty. The town has a warren of steep streets descending from Augustus Pugin’s cathedral to the Norman castle and the River Slaney. Enniscorthy is described in Ulysses as “the finest place in the world”. Our festive package takes in the local cities of Waterford and Kilkenny as well as the Irish Agricultural Museum at Johnston Castle plus Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre where you may find some last minute Christmas bargains.

Treacy’s Hotel combines contemporary glamour with old world elegance. The hotel offers 60 en-suite bedrooms all with LCD televisions, air-con, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and free WiFi. There is a lift, swimming pool, sauna and a gym. Festive/traditional entertainment follows dinner each evening.

Day 1

We travel south arriving in our hotel in mid-afternoon where we are greeted with a mulled wine. Before dinner tonight everyone will put their names into a hat (small charge payable locally) and pick one person to buy a present for - this is for Kris Kindle on Christmas night. Live traditional Irish music tonight.
